Gastropub is given a facelift

I was recently asked to bring new life to the private dining room of Bumpkin restaurant in South Kensington.

The potential was great. Large space, huge windows and original wood floors. But it was looking sad and shabby. Unfortunately budget didn't allow new tables and chairs so the existing furniture had to work within the new scheme.

Farrow and Ball's off white was used on the ceiling to instantly brighten the space, followed by Card Room Green on the panelling. The window grilles were stripped and painted black to give an industrial, contemporary look and the amazing Limerence wallpaper by House of Hackney was used above the panelling adding character and depth to the space. Contrasting coral coloured silk shades were made to fit on to the existing traditional chandeliers and new, industrial looking wall lights replaced the existing ones.

Finally, the room was styled with some eclectic art prints and plenty of plants.

Bumpkin private dining room is now available to hire and a great space to party!
